Good for quick word edits but its continually crashing on me when trying to do simple commands: copy/paste text. I keep getting "quit unexpectedly"

This software is a rebranded copy of Bean 2.4.5 by James Hoover. Mr. Hoover made the code open source back in 2011, and the GPL license does NOT allow people to resell the software under a different name. The "developer" of this software didnt even change the contact information in the support page, so all support requests go to Mr. Hoover! Mr. Hoover has complained to Apples legal department many times. Everytime the app is taken down the "developer" changes the version number and resubmits it. The "developers" are in China, so Mr. Hoover is unable to prosecute them in court. I repeat: Do NOT buy this software. It is stolen, and every dollar you pay goes to support criminal activity.

This application has closed itself randomly more times than I can count since I made the mistake of buying it (which was only three months ago). Not reliable, especially if you try and write a last minute essay and it shuts itself down without saving the two pages you wrote. Also it asks to replace the document every time you save, resulting in many copies being produced, wasting your computers space.

No.

This has too many bugs to bother with it. The formattting does not link to Word (first of all), which is hard for this student who uses the college computers to print. In fact, the formatting is rather unclear (making lists that are multi-faceted is impossible; Ive ended up creating my own). I am asked every 10 minutes to re-save my document; when I click to save it (again), it says that the title is already in use, so I should save as "Document copy" or "Document copy copy." It is so irritating to be wrapped up in typing out thoughts and asked to re-save the document under a different name. I wish I had just paid more for the complete Word. This one is aggravating.

TWO times now I have been working on documents in this program on an ongoing basis and TWO times now when I go to reopen one and begin where I left off, it can inexplicably no longer be opened in the program! I was just working on a document last night, saved all of my changes and everything was fine. When I went to reopen it this morning, the program no longer opens the document and I get an error message saying that it cannot be opened by Bean, and that Bean does not open documents of this type or there is a problem with the document. How can it not open a Word file which the program automatically saved it as itself?! I cant tell you how frustrating it is to have to reopen the document in Text Edit, save it as an RTF and basically rewrite the ENTIRE thing to re-add all of the formatting, etc. 20,000 words is not something I want to continuously have to rewrite simply because this program cannot do its job. Save your money and buy MOAppsWrite - I had used that one before and never had any issues with it. I will be going back to it and will never be using or trusting this program again. What a waste.

Like previous reviewers I appreciate QuickWord’s simplicity and layout, but come on! The only way to simply save an existing edited document is the ‘Save As’ feature—which after several steps only ends up creating a ‘(document name) copy’ version! No basic Cmd-S save, no ‘Save’ in the edit menu. And if you don’t first disable it in prefs, auto-save interrupts you every 5 mins with a dialog saying “Bean won’t allow alteration of the document” or such because you don’t have “administrator" access…? How can an app even be categorized amongst other word processors without a basic save function? Further infuriating, after reading previous reviews I learn that this $9.99 QuickWord is in fact the same as Bean, a free download. And someone mentioned QWord can’t even print, and that their support person suggested the ugly workaround is to open the doc in another app in order to print! Come on, a “word processor” that can’t do the basic Save and Print? Ridiculous. Read something online that FoxSoft, the original company that created this marvel, sold or gave it to Google and the latter discountinued it last year….?! Why is this app even still on the App Store?

I’ve been using Quick Word successfully for a couple of years. After an update last night, when I tried to print today I get an error message saying contact the vendor. The vendor is not available and I have work to do.
